The thriving Winchester Chamber Music Festival was founded in 2008 and continues to attract sell-out audiences, supported by a loyal Friends and Patrons network, an esteemed board of trustees and generous volunteers. It takes place each year during the first weekend of May - Friday to Bank Holiday Monday - and uses various venues around the centre including the Theatre Royal, St Paul’s Church, St Lawrence Church and The Nutshell.

Kate invites special guest artists each year to perform a wide variety of mixed ensembles. Guests have included David Adams, Lucy Gould, Magnus Johnston, Jonathan Stone, Maia Cabeza, Esther Hoppe, Benjamin Gilmore, Hélène Clement, Tim Posner, Richard Lester, Daniel Tong (former co-director), Simon Crawford-Phillips, Huw Watkins, Tim Horton, Robert Plane and Olivier Stankiewicz. In addition to several concerts from morning til late night, the festival offers talks, open rehearsals, a masterclass, an emerging string quartet programme and extensive outreach projects.
